Nate Schlachter is the Executive Director of the Sustainable Food Trade Association. Nate has worked within the food industry in a variety of capacities. As owner/operator of a Great Harvest Bread Company, Nate utilized his entrepreneurial drive to implement sustainable sourcing practices while growing his small business. Prior to joining SFTA, Nate served as an Outside Sales Representative for GloryBee Foods, Inc, where he worked closely with retailers, manufacturers, farmers and distributors, to provide expert advice, opinion and service regarding organic and natural raw ingredients.Nate holds an MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI). Nate lives in Portland, Oregon with his partner, Dayspring, and daughter, Simone.

As Director of Education and Communications, Nicole is responsible for advising members, developing educational resources to drive performance measurement and continuous improvement, educating the broader organic food trade to catalyze wider change and implementing Sustainable Food Trade Association’s communication activities.  Nicole grew up in the wilds of Northern British Columbia, where she developed a passion for people and the environment. She also consults on sustainability for PrAna, as Director of Social Responsibility, addressing corporate and supply chain social and environmental impacts. Prior to joining prAna Nicole was Social Responsibility Manager at Patagonia, where she championed and integrated social and environmental responsibility into sourcing and production. Additionally she has been involved with various stakeholder initiatives, including the Outdoor Industry’s Sustainability Working Group, Fair Trade USA, and Textile Exchange. Nicole received her Master’s in Environmental Studies with a focus on Business Strategy and Sustainability from York University in Toronto, Canada. Nicole resides in Hood River OR with her partner Andy.
