Renaud des Rosiers is the Sustainability Manager at Amy’s Kitchen, directing the strategy and implementation of Amy’s corporate sustainability program. Before Amy’s, he spent 10 years consulting on sustainability strategy and environmental accounting to clients across the consumer packaged goods industry after earning an MBA and an MS focused on implementation of business sustainability and renewable energy policy at the University of Colorado. Renaud leads the operational aspect of Amy’s sustainability program with a broad focus on efficiency, waste reduction, and material optimization in product and packaging development, company-owned offices and manufacturing facilities, and logistics throughout the supply chain.

Laura McCord has over 18 years of food retail experience with experience as a grocer, and account manager, with the majority of her time spent in category management. After obtaining her Master’s degree in Sustainable Management, she transitioned to a newly created position at KeHE, Sustainability, and Corporate Responsibility, which focuses on environmental stewardship, employee engagement, and community involvement. Laura is also the co-founder of CAREtrade, which focuses on suppliers that share KeHE’s mission to serve to make lives better and DIVERSEtrade, which focuses on certified Women and Minority suppliers at KeHE.

Carla Davis is a Northwood University graduate and brings with her over 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations in the natural foods, retail, restaurant and hospitality industries. Carla oversees the marketing, branding and sustainability efforts for Sweet Additions, an organic ingredients manufacturer specializing in natural, multifunctional sweeteners that are sourced from rice, oat and tapioca located in Wisconsin. In addition, Carla also serves on the Sugar Task Force Committee of the Organic Trade Association.

Ben Couch is Sustainability Manager at Traditional Medicinals, an herbal tea and wellness product manufacturer in Sonoma County, California. Ben has worked in Community Engagement, Operations, and Sustainability functions for 10 years, helping build sustainable models for source ecosystem and socioeconomic stewardship. Ben has an MBA in Sustainable Supply Chain from Middlebury Institute of International Studies. He currently leads Zero Waste, Climate & Regenerative strategy, and Impact assessment projects, among others.

Alison is the Sustainability & Social Impact Manager at Gaia Herbs. She leads their sustainability strategies, including Climate Action Planning, zero waste efforts, regenerative agriculture programs, and the Roots Initiative social impact program. Alison has worked with farmers and artisans around the world to advance business strategies that foster both a positive economic impact on rural livelihoods and ecological conservation.
Alison spent the first six years of her career working across sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean to develop social entrepreneurship business models as a tool for regional economic development. In 2011, after working as an organic farmer in rural West Virginia, Alison worked for the NC State Extension Service in Western North Carolina to advance organic agriculture systems and alternative crop research and marketing for medicinal herbs and native plants of the Southeast. Alison holds a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in International Affairs, with concentrations in International Development and Cultures & Societies. Alison lives outside Asheville, North Carolina, where she is homesteading with her husband, baby boy, and the company of two dogs, five goats, and a flock of chickens.

Manuel is the Planet Advocate in Sustainable Business, Operations & Marketing with Nature’s Path Foods, Inc., a fiercely independent, family-run, sustainably-driven organic breakfast and snack food company that believes in ‘always leaving the earth better than we found it’. Manuel has more than eight years of experience with environmental and sustainability management in large and fast-growing manufacturing industries in both North and Latin America. At Nature’s Path, he leads programs that move the company towards their ambitious sustainability goals, like becoming zero waste and climate neutral. Manuel obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela.

After growing up on an organic gardening operation in Germany, Eckhart received his formal agricultural engineering education specializing in organic ag systems – then a novelty in Europe’s university world. After 3 years living in Nepal developing an organic farming curriculum for technical schools with the German Volunteer Service, for 15 years Eckhart worked for Rapunzel Naturkost – the largest German organic retail brand. In 1997 Eckhart moved to the States (upstate NY), then managing Rapunzel’s US import and distribution business. Eckhart has worked over 14 years with Ciranda, an organic & fair trade ingredient food company. Roles at Ciranda include the procurement field, business development, and sustainability. Lately Eckhart moved into a new full-time role covering Ciranda’s sustainability efforts.

Justin provides clients with market, business feasibility and technical research and analysis. Justin leads Good Company’s food practice and works on international and clean tech efforts. Recent projects include a packaging life-cycle analysis, operational and supply chain greenhouse gas inventories, international supply chain and climate management solutions for food sector clients. He’s also the lead researcher for a USAID funded marine plastics reduction project in two Latin American countries. Justin gained his passion for food and agriculture when he was an agroforestry Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic and Peru.

Since 2005, Natalie has worked with cross-departmental teams to integrate sustainable practices across OGC and lead’s OGCs organic trade advocacy efforts. She has been on the faculty for the Institute for Sustainable Environment at the University of Oregon, was the first Executive Director of the Sustainable Food Trade Association and currently serves on numerous organic advisory boards. In 2013, Natalie shifted her focus to include “organizational vitality”. She leads human resources ensuring organizational alignment with OGCs unique “shared-ownership” culture, strategic talent management and organizational development activities. Her latest area of focus is how to bring social-environmental mission and stakeholders, into the ownership structure and financing of mission driven businesses, and she is pioneering new models.
