The Responsible Packaging Project was a collaborative initiative facilitated by the Sustainable Food Trade Association in support by Whole Foods Market Green Mission, UNFI, Inc., Organic Trade Association, National Cooperative Grocers Association, and the Independent Natural Food Retailers Association.  The project served the organic and natural foods industry in driving ecologically sound and socially responsible packaging innovation and education.  In 2014, the Responsible Packaging project ended as an active collaboration among the previous partners.

Our vision was to raise the bar in food industry packaging through open inquiry and cross-supply chain collaboration.
